Well, after taking parts of two days to draw one hull panel and another part of the second day to draw the second panel, I cut those two panels out this evening.
I planned to use the saber saw following a suggestion of using a fine blade and slow saw speed. After using the power saw to separate the two panels, I didn't like how the saw was working. Sure, I could have experimented a bit, but I took a different approach. I drew a cut like 2 or 3mm outside the hull lines. Then I used a Japanese pull saw to cut to that second line. The block plane quickly took care of those few mm. I trimmed to the line and left the lines there to see. I repeated the process for the second panel.
This is fun.
Two things I learned today: First, patience can get in the way of progress (thanks for the reminder). The second thing is sorta related to the first. One of the beautiful features of using the first set of panels as patterns for the second set, is that even if a mistake occurs with the first set, the second set will match it.
