Those are two pics of pretty much the same amount of wood, just in different sizes (was going to say shapes and sizes, but that wouldn't have been right...)

The "Buy Now" eBay bar clamps should be here by mid-week. And my new-to-me Stanley block plane (tonight's eBay auction score) should be here by the end of the week. The clamps will be used to laminate the blanks for the foils. The plane will help me form the blanks to the proper shape.

I need to study up on tuning and sharpening a plane. Fortunately, there is a lot of information available... and, unfortunately, there is a lot of information available! While the seller's information on eBay suggests this plane is in excellent condition (don't all sellers make that claim?), I'll have to wait to see what the sole and the blade look like to know how much work will be involved with bringing the plane back to life.



I really need to get the work bench/table finished, too!
