A Step In the Right Direction...

The Jeep moved under its own power today for the first time since mid-July...

A friend took me up to Sears this morning to buy a battery. The Jeep fired right up with the new battery. I let the engine run for about 30 minutes or so to warm it up. It didn't stall, shut down or otherwise quit, so I crossed my fingers, put it in drive and drove to the other side of the complex (I've been squatting in another apartment's designated parking space all this time).

A quick rinse with the hose only moved the nearly 5 months' accumulation of dust and dirt around. I'll take it for a wash and an oil change later.

For now I am excited to have a working vehicle again!
