I forgot (sorta) about the bottom panel... The bottom panel is still in two pieces and, until this afternoon, was still at the apartment. I realized that even if I could glue the two pieces together here, I'd have a difficult time moving the nearly 16' long bottom to the shed. But, I also realized that with the boat put together there is no room in the shed to coat the panels and glue them together.
So, it was a good thing we didn't glue the boat together today...
Instead, I took the boat apart (much easier than putting it together) and then worked on the box boom.
Here's a shot along the sheer line with a temporary gunwale in place.

Even though temporary and only clamped on, those gunwales stiffened up the boat and smoothed out the sheer line.
And here is a picture of the top timber and one side of the box boom ready to be glued.

It took 8 clamps to set it up but 15 clamps to make sure there were no gaps along the join.
Tomorrow I will glue the bottom timber in place and begin work on the bottom panels (coating with epoxy).
So not being able to glue the boat today turned out to be a good thing.

Hi Bob, Lack of space is a real killer, but we always seem to find a way :)
Seeing you Goat taking shape is really making me itchy for the arrival of my ply!
