Way too much time has passed since my last entry!
I haven't found a house. I moved into a nice cozy apartment - and figured the boat-building project was stalled... And it was.
A couple of weeks ago I was talking with some friends about building the boat and lamenting the circumstances of just not having a place for the project. One of my buddies made the observation that if I wait for circumstances to be perfect, the boat will never get built. He suggested I look over the plans for parts and components that can be built in a small space. After all, the boat is made up out of a lot of little pieces.
Following that advice, I realized there is a lot I can do here at the apartment or even in the storage space I have. I'll keep looking for that "big space" for the hull assembly, but I am starting the build this coming weekend.
After a few delays and frustrations I found the Western red cedar I need to fabricate the centerboard and rudder. I bought some really pretty lumber and this weekend I will mill it down to the pieces needed to laminate the blanks for both foils.
